The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Examination 2026. The recruitment drive has announced 3,073 tentative vacancies for eligible candidates.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Sub-Inspector posts generally need a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

For Delhi Police SI Male posts, candidates are additionally required to meet the applicable LMV driving licence requirement.

For the CISF Sub-Inspector (Fire) post, the notification specifies the applicable Science/Engineering educational qualification, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or an eligible three-year engineering diploma.

Age Limit

The age requirement depends on the post:

  • Most SI posts: 20–25 years
  • SI Fire in CISF: 18–30 years

The age is calculated with reference to 1 August 2026. Applicable age relaxation is available to eligible reserved-category candidates according to government rules.

  • 100 Metres Race: 18 seconds
  • 800 Metres Race: 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metres
  • High Jump: 0.9 metre

Selection Process
