About Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV)
Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh एक 100% Government Funded State Agricultural University है, जिसकी स्थापना 1 October 1964 को मध्य प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा Act No. 15 of 1964 के तहत की गई थी। University का मुख्य उद्देश्य Agriculture Education, Research और Extension Activities के माध्यम से किसानों की आय बढ़ाना तथा राज्य में कृषि विकास को बढ़ावा देना है।
JNKVV की स्थापना Radhakrishnan Commission (1949) की सिफारिशों के आधार पर की गई थी। यह University अमेरिका के Land Grant College Model से प्रेरित है, जिसका उद्देश्य कृषि वैज्ञानिकों और किसानों के बीच की दूरी को कम करना तथा नई कृषि तकनीकों को सीधे किसानों तक पहुंचाना है। इस University का उद्घाटन तत्कालीन केंद्रीय सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री श्रीमती इंदिरा गांधी द्वारा किया गया था।
University का Central Administrative Office मध्य प्रदेश के Jabalpur शहर से लगभग 7 किलोमीटर दूर National Highway पर स्थित है। शुरुआत में इस University के अंतर्गत 6 Government Agriculture Colleges, 2 Veterinary Colleges तथा 26 Agricultural Research Stations को शामिल किया गया था।
समय के साथ JNKVV ने कृषि शिक्षा के विस्तार में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया और इसके अंतर्गत स्थापित संस्थानों से आगे चलकर Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (Raipur), Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (Gwalior) तथा Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University (Jabalpur) जैसी नई Universities का गठन किया गया।
वर्तमान में JNKVV के पास लगभग 1,544 हेक्टेयर भूमि है और यह मध्य प्रदेश के 25 जिलों में अपनी सेवाएं प्रदान कर रही है। University के अंतर्गत 7 Agriculture Colleges, 1 Horticulture College, 1 Agricultural Engineering College, कई Research Stations तथा 20 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) संचालित किए जा रहे हैं, जो राज्य के विभिन्न Agro-Climatic Zones में कृषि अनुसंधान एवं किसानों को प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करते हैं।
JNKVV ने बेहतर बीज तकनीक, नई फसल किस्मों और आधुनिक कृषि तकनीकों के विकास में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है। University द्वारा विकसित अनुसंधान एवं तकनीकों के कारण मध्य प्रदेश ने दालों, तिलहनों एवं अनाज उत्पादन में देशभर में महत्वपूर्ण स्थान प्राप्त किया है। कृषि उत्पादन बढ़ाने में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए राज्य को कई बार Krishi Karman Award भी प्राप्त हो चुका है, जिसमें JNKVV की अहम भूमिका रही है।
